Some of the best joinery is the kind you never notice.
That idea sits at the heart of our recent feature in Est Living, which looks closely at a Mosman home designed by EMK Architects. Curved entry portals give way to floor-to-ceiling storage and stone-clad cabinetry, each element resolved to the millimetre through close coordination between joiner, architect and builder.
The piece traces that process from the earliest drawings through to site measure and installation, and touches on a principle we return to often: that a maker's real value lies in the technical knowledge brought early, before decisions become difficult to unwind. As founder Leon Pirrello notes in the interview, "the detail may change; the idea should not."
