A soft, modern reimagining of a classic Bronte home.
Rosa Cottage sits quietly in the heart of Bronte – a Federation semi with an unexpectedly soft, contemporary soul. Interior designer Kristy McGregor reimagined the home with a palette grounded in warm neutral joinery, blush-toned Quaresto marble, and subtle brass detailing that catches the light in just the right way.
When VICELLO® were brought in to craft the joinery, the vision was already beautifully resolved. Our role was to honour that intent – and to build it with the level of precision and technical forethought that ensures every line lands exactly as imagined. One of the defining strengths of this project was early alignment between designer, builder, and maker. Being brought into the process from the outset meant we weren’t simply “executing joinery” but actively protecting the design intent, ensuring each junction worked with the architecture, not against it.

As captured in Home Beautiful’s feature, the kitchen was once stark and disconnected from the home’s Federation character. Today, it’s an enveloping space defined by soft cabinetry, warm light, and marble that moves like desert wind. Kristy’s material direction was beautifully restrained, and VICELLO’s task was to maintain that clarity.
Beyond the kitchen, a quiet study nook sits under an existing archway. It could have been a forgotten corner, but instead it’s one of the home’s most memorable moments, and proof that small spaces can hold just as much presence as the larger gestures. The handles by Lo & Co are a beautiful example of this thinking. They've a gentle sculptural quality, adding just enough punctuation to elevate the joinery without overpowering the palette.
Rosa Cottage is a testament to what happens when design, craftsmanship, and construction work in unison.
